The Guy's Guide to Christian Living
This is a podcast dedicated to Christian men trying to figure out their way through life. We discuss many topics ranging from men-specific (what biblical fatherhood looks like) to general issues regarding Christianity (do we follow the old testament laws or not?) If there is one thing that we want to get across, it's that we are all in this together. Come figure out this weird thing called life with us. It'll sure be a journey. Let's do this.

Show Notes:
- First, what is prayer? - Let’s make a definition that we can stick to.

- What can prayer do? Why is it necessary? - Is prayer mostly a tool, like a telephone line straight to God?
- If God already knows what I am praying for, why do I even need to pray?

- Do I need to be in a special moment with God, or can I just prayer anywhere anytime?
- Is there any sort of real process that I need to go through?- Kneeling vs not kneeling
- Praying inside my head vs. saying it out loud
- How do we address the creator of the Universe, God? More casual or very formal?
- What is ok to pray about?
- Do I need to pray every day?
- Should I expect an answer?

- I’ve seen it be joked about before that sometimes a person may pray with a specific request in mind, let’s say the healing of a person. But, then, then feel bad that they are only praying for that one person, and so the prayer slowly begins to open up until you are just praying for the healing of the entire world. - What/who do we need to be praying for? Are we being selfish if we pray for only one thing?

- Sometimes, when I pray, it can be very emotional and I can feel God’s presence with me. Sometimes, it feels as if i'm just saying things into the ether of the universe, and it’s going nowhere. What can I do if I feel like God isn’t giving me an answer?- How can I even know if he IS giving me an answer?

- I know many people who keep a tradition of repeating the Lord’s prayer often. Catholics do it every Sunday at mass. Is this something that should be important to us, or should it just be something that we keep in the back of our minds when it comes to a prayer template?
- Can you pray to somebody that isn’t God?- Many protestants think that it’s heretical for Catholics to “pray” to the Saints. But, Catholics would say that the protestants just have the wrong idea of what is actually happening there (I don’t want to spoil the exact reason until the recording).

- Mark 11:24 seems to say that we will get whatever we pray for. But, I pray for things all the time that I don’t get. What gives? What could Jesus really be saying here that maybe doesn’t come across right in translation?
